Progress & Statistics
Streaks, accuracy tracking, and weekly statistics.
Lesson Streak
Pianove counts the number of consecutive calendar days on which you completed at least one lesson. The current streak and all-time best streak are shown on the Home tab.
A day counts if any lesson reaches its completion screen, regardless of accuracy. Missing a day resets the current streak to zero; the best-streak record is never lowered.
Weekly Lessons Chart
A bar chart on the Home tab and the Stats tab shows how many lessons were completed on each day of the current Monday–Sunday week. The chart resets automatically at the start of each new week.
Accuracy Tracking
Each sight-reading practice session records:
- Accuracy — percentage of notes played correctly on the first attempt
- Note count — total notes in the session
- BPM — the tempo used
The Stats tab shows the rolling average accuracy over your last 10 sessions. Individual session results are stored permanently and never auto-deleted.
Weekly Practice Sessions
A second chart on the Stats tab tracks how many sight-reading practice sessions you completed per day this week. This is separate from the lesson chart — practice sessions are counted from the Songs tab, not the Lessons tab.
Achievements
Pianove awards milestone badges for reaching cumulative targets. Achievements are shown on the Stats tab and are permanent once earned.
Example milestones: total notes played, average accuracy thresholds, streak lengths, number of lessons completed. Each achievement has a name, emoji, and a short description shown on unlock.
Data Storage
All progress data is stored locally on-device using PyLay's Storage module, which writes a JSON file to your home directory (~/.pianove/data.json). No account, login, or internet connection is ever required. Data is never sent anywhere.
To reset all progress, go to Settings → Reset. This clears streak history, lesson dates, and practice session records. Imported songs are not affected.
